Demolding agents are highly versatile, essential materials valued for their reliable release properties and mold protection capabilities. These agents excel across a wide range of applications, thanks to their ability to prevent sticking, resist high temperatures, and maintain mold integrity over repeated cycles. Their adaptability makes them indispensable in industrial manufacturing, composite fabrication, and even food production, where a clean, efficient release is needed to produce high-quality, defect-free products.
Demoulding Agents
Key Features
Release Performance: Demolding agents are specially formulated to create a thin, uniform layer on molds that prevents materials from sticking, allowing for easy and clean removal of finished products.
Chemical Compatibility: These agents are compatible with a variety of materials, including plastics, composites, rubber, and concrete, making them versatile across different molding processes.
Surface Protection: In addition to facilitating release, demolding agents provide a protective coating on mold surfaces, reducing wear and extending mold life.
Thermal Stability: Demolding agents are designed to perform effectively under a wide range of temperatures, including high-heat applications, ensuring consistent release without residue.
Versatility: Available in different formulations, such as silicone, non-silicone, and water-based options, demolding agents are adaptable to the specific requirements of diverse industries.
Minimizes Defects: By preventing sticking, demolding agents help to avoid common surface defects, such as warping or tearing, resulting in smooth, high-quality finished products.
Applications
Injection Molding: Commonly used in the production of plastic and rubber parts, ensuring easy release without damaging the mold or the final product.
Composite Manufacturing: Essential in the creation of fiberglass and carbon fiber components, helping to maintain a clean mold surface for repeated use.
Concrete Casting: Used in construction and decorative casting applications to ensure smooth release from molds, preserving detail in the finished concrete piece.
Automotive Industry: Used for producing interior and exterior components, including dashboards, bumpers, and trim, reducing production time and mold wear.
Electronics: Applied when creating molded electronic housings and parts, ensuring that delicate, intricate shapes are preserved without surface flaws.
Food and Packaging: Food-grade demolding agents are employed for applications involving molds in the food and packaging industries to ensure safe, clean removal.
How to use
Preparation: Ensure that the mold surface is clean and free of any residue or contaminants to allow for an even application of the demolding agent.
Application: Apply a thin, even layer of the demolding agent to the mold surface, using a spray, brush, or cloth, depending on the product and mold complexity.
Drying: Allow the demolding agent to set or dry if necessary, according to the product’s instructions, to ensure optimal release performance.
Molding Process: Proceed with the molding process as usual, knowing the product will release easily once set.
Post-Release: After each cycle, check the mold and reapply the demolding agent as needed, especially if producing multiple parts in succession.

MARBOCOTE® HP7
Marbocote HP7 is specifically designed to be used
as a top-coat for the HP Mould and Tool Sealers
and is especially suited to epoxy moulding.
Marbocote® HP7 can also release all types of
composite moulding resins, such as phenolic,
polyester (GRP) or vinyl ester, from steel,
aluminium or composite moulds. Marbocote HP7 is
formulated from an advanced polymeric resin
diluted in a non-chlorinated organic solvent blend.
Marbocote HP7 is applied by a simple wipe-on
technique; there is no need for rubbing or polishing.
The Marbocote HP7 is durable and capable of
giving many releases per application. It will not
contaminate the released surface.

MARBOCOTE® HP2002 Tool Sealer
Marbocote® HP2002 Tool Sealer is designed to seal
all types of highly porous substrates including epoxy
and polyurethane tooling board, MDF, gelcoated and
non-gelcoated polyester and epoxy composite moulds.
Marbocote HP2002 Tool Sealer is a high solids
moisture cure system in a hydrocarbon/alcohol solvent
blend that gives a high gloss finish to the surface.
Marbocote HP2002 Tool Sealer is applied by a simple
wipe-on or spray–on technique; there is no need for
rubbing or polishing. The fast-dry formulation also acts
as a mould primer for semi-permanent mould release
agents (such as Marbocote HP7) and can be used to
re-condition/enhance the gloss of old moulds.

MARBOCOTE® Mould Cleaner
Marbocote® Mould Cleaner is blend of organic
solvents designed to remove dirt, grease and
contaminants from a mould surface. The
Marbocote Mould Cleaner is particularly efficient
at removing silicone, wax or other types of build-
up on the mould. Marbocote Mould Cleaner is
designed not to soften or dull mould materials
(such as GRP). Consequently, Marbocote Mould
Cleaner can be used on any metallic or thermo
set mould. Marbocote Mould Cleaner should be
used immediately prior to the application of
Marbocote Sealers or Release Agents.
